In this session\, Ms. Gillins will introduce novice researchers to the strategies and resources they can use to locate ancestors\, document resources\, and extend the branches of their family tree. The presentation will include examples of historical documents that beginning researches can readily access as they begin their own journey of family history discovery. Ms. Gillins\, a native of Galveston\, with a life-long interest in her family's history\, has over 25 years of experience in genealogical research. Ms. Gillins\, a native of Galveston\, is a Research Associate at Mary Moody Northern Endowment in Galveston.
